Elementary students may choose to participate in Academic UIL events culminating in a district-wide contest in the spring.
Events may include:

High School

High school students may choose to participate in any of 29 different academic events. These events, which exist to complement the academic curriculum, are designed to motivate students as they acquire higher levels of knowledge, to challenge students to confront issues of importance, and to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of specific skills.  Students are challenged to think critically and creatively, exhibiting much more than knowledge and comprehension. Students are encouraged to speak with a teacher associated with an event of interest or contact their campus UIL coordinator for additional information.  The top three individuals from each event may advance to the state level of competition.
