Each fall, nominated kindergarten through fifth grade students are assessed to determine whether they qualify for Gifted and Talented Services. Parent meetings are held in October to inform parents of the testing process, qualification requirements, and the G/T services available for identified gifted learners. 

At the elementary level, identified gifted students meet together at least once a week to participate in learning opportunities with their grade level G/T specialist or classroom teacher. During this time with their G/T peers, students will study advanced content and develop independent projects with the support of the grade level G/T specialist. The curriculum for the projects will be from the Texas Performance Standards Project (http://www.texaspsp.org).

Teachers in 精选麻豆二区 ISD will also be providing classroom differentiation for students as needed in order to meet the needs of the individual student.

At the end of each project, G/T students will present their research and product at the campus Gifted and Talented Showcase. These projects will be assessed according to the rigorous standards established by the Texas Education Agency for gifted learner performance.
