White Oak Choir

  • Beginning 6th Grade Choir

    This is for any 6th grader who wants to try choir.  This is a year-long course that explores choral music from a wide variety of cultures and time periods through study and performance.  The curriculum emphasizes the basics of vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, and music history.  Students in Beginning Choir are expected to participate in performances throughout the school year as part of their grade.

     

    Treble Choir

    This is for any 7th or 8th grade girls who would like to learn to sing. This is a year-long course that explores choral music from a wide variety of cultures and time periods through study and performance.  The curriculum emphasizes the basics of vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, and music history.  Students in Beginning Choir are expected to participate in performances throughout the school year as part of their grade.

     

    Tenor Bass Choir

    This is for any 7th or 8th grade boy who would like to be in choir. This is a year-long course that explores choral music from a wide variety of cultures and time periods through study and performance.  The curriculum emphasizes the basics of vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, and music history.  Students in Tenor Bass Choir are expected to participate in performances throughout the school year as part of their grade.

     

    Advanced Boys Choir

    This is a group of 7th and 8th grade boys who have had previous choir experience and requires an audition.  This course explores advanced vocal techniques, UIL level sight-reading, music theory and music history.  This choir auditions for All-Region choir in addition to participating in many performances for the school and community.

     

    Chamber (Honor) Choir

    This is a group of seventh and eighth grade girls that requires an audition. They perform for many occasions including UIL contest and sight reading and All-Region Choir.  These ladies explore advanced vocal techniques, UIL level sight-reading, music theory and music history.  This choir auditions for All-Region choir and competes in UIL Contest and Sight-Reading in addition to participating in many performances for the school and community.
