Group Fitness

Group fitness offers an exciting, friendly, and welcoming environment that encourages participants to maintain and enhance lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyles. Certified instructors and coaches teach safe, fun, and inclusive classes designed for all fitness levels.

 

¾«Ñ¡Âé¶¹¶þÇø Campus Recreation Group Fitness

Group Fitness classes are FREE to everyone with a valid ¾«Ñ¡Âé¶¹¶þÇø OneCard. All fitness levels are welcome, and certified instructors will suggest modifications that allow you to increase or decrease the intensity of the workout.

GROUP FITNESS REGISTRATION

Registration is recommended to assure your spot in class. Walk-ins are welcome on a space available basis. Please use the ¾«Ñ¡Âé¶¹¶þÇø Campus Rec mobile app or visit to register for classes. 

Registration is open 24 hours prior to the beginning of all classes and will close at the start of class. Check in will open 10 minutes prior to class time.

Class Descriptions  

Explore this low-impact class derived from Ballet and dance. The class will consist of exercises based in barre, Pilates, and yoga used by dancers that improves posture, muscle tone, and grace.  Barre uses high-reps and lightly weighted moves to create muscular strength and endurance, a strong core, and focused flexibility. Registration opens 24 hours in advance.

Beginner or advanced, work at your pace with this fun and effective workout that offers a variety of cardio drills, body-weighted strength circuits and core conditioning.

Add punch to your training with this energizing cardio conditioning classic.   Join us in the Skills Studio for a fast-moving circuit-style body workout. Get prize fighter strong with easy to follow punching and kicking combinations that reduce stress, burn fat, strengthens your muscles, increases cardio and engages the core!    

Get ready, get set, RIDE!  Indoor cycling peaks cardiovascular endurance, keeping you strong and energized for the road of life!   An instructor-led ride set to motivating music leaves you in control of creating a challenge that’s just right for your goals.  Kindly arrive at least 5 minutes early to set up your equipment.

Increase your strength and cardiovascular fitness with this 45 minute cycle class geared towards faculty and staff. This is a great way to end your day with motivating and energizing music. Students are welcome to join.

Put a spin on your workout with this 45- or 60-minute workout. You will spend half the class on the bike spinning through cycling drills that include strength, endurance, and interval zones followed by core exercises designed to condition and strengthen the entire body.

*This class will meet in the cycle studio and finish in the skills studio next door.

A yoga class designed to help you reconnect your breath and movement to your body and empower yourself through a healing practice. This is a trauma informed class, but all are welcome to share in this grounded and safe practice. Instructors are trained on PTSD, brain injury, and how trauma is stored in the body. No experience is necessary, so grab a mat and come practice with us!

Get ready to challenge your full-body strength and conditioning in this 45-minute circuit class where you will build power, endurance, and mobility. Participants can expect quieter music, natural or low lighting, minimal equipment, a class plan posted at the front of the studio, and a designated space provided to re-center.

Take a break with a calming 30-minute guided meditation class. This session will help you find inner peace, reduce anxiety, and improve focus through deep breathing and mindfulness techniques. Stack it with our 60-minute yoga flow beforehand for a complete mind-body experience.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) will get your heart pumping with short, intense bursts of exercise followed by recovery periods. HIIT is a 4 for 1 special increasing cardiovascular fitness, strength, power, and core all in one-, 30 or 45-minute class.

In this class, you'll learn the fundamentals of majorette and hip-hop dance styles, focusing on technique, precision, and body control. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class offers a fun, supportive environment to master new moves and boost your confidence on the dance floor.

Improve your posture, stabilize your core, and tone your muscles! A low-impact, fully body workout, Pilates mat uses body weight and props such as the BOSU ball, light hand weights, the fitness circle and more to strengthen and tone the body.

Relax and reduce stress in this passive, meditative form of yoga. Restorative yoga uses props, blankets, and blocks to support the body in poses to enhance or deepen your experience and achieve a state of total relaxation. 

Designed as a moving meditation, you will move through a series of postures lightly stretching and uniting mind, body and breath set to calming music. A gentle and grounding flow perfect for the end of your day.

Strengthen your entire body with this 30- or 45-minute class! This strength training class uses dumbbells, resistance tubes, balls, body-bars, and more to increase physical strength throughout the entire body from head to toe.

A great way to start the day, Sunrise yoga eases your body into movement linking each pose to an inhale and exhale. Flowing, classic yoga poses, sun salutations, and an active meditation will leave you ready to tackle your day.

Designed as a moving meditation, you will move through a series of postures uniting mind, body and breath. Vinyasa yoga will help you become stronger, more flexible and balance, while being present in the moment.

Increase your strength and find your Zen as you improve mind-body connections through this ancient practice which links strength, flexibility and balance poses with calming breath.   Set to relaxing music, class includes a brief meditation at the end.

Dance your way through blends Latin, Hip Hop and World rhythms for a fun and invigorating dance fitness party. Dance fitness – it’s exercise in disguise!

Neuro-Inclusive Fitness

We offer weekly Neuro-Inclusive Fitness classes where participants can expect quieter music, natural or low lighting, and minimal equipment to reduce distractions and promote ease of movement. A designated space will be provided to re-center. The class plan will be posted at the front of the studio for participants to re-join when ready.
